Kerli - Walking on Air

An Estonian artist’s pop entry into the kaleidoscope that is the American music scene, Walking on Air, is an instant draw with the music box theme, almost hypnotically carrying the song.

A sample of childlike voices right before the first line of the song elicit audistic imagery - Word of the Day? -  one of a nursery rhyme of years passed. The swell of the chorus - through the use of violins - uplifts the more downbeat mood of the rest of the song, like a child on a swing, as the ride seems to end, joy comes yet again on the upswing, in this case, the chorus. The rest of the song keeps its simplistic pace with the music box simply looping throughout the song with the intermittent use of the children, seemingly so as though simplistic, gives the song a rich delivery that is memorable on every listen. As Kerli puts it “Feel it, breathe it, believe it and you’ll be walking on air.”
